Redevelopment of former Stonehaven chip shop into residential apartments
Located on the high street in Stonehaven, Burns Construction were awarded with the redevelopment of the former “Bervie Chipper” into residential apartments. The former chip shop lay empty following a fire in 2009 and was demolished in 2016 to make way for the new apartments.
Quality was at the heart of this project and the client briefed us to deliver a high specification.
The development comprised of the construction of a four-storey building containing seven, two-bed contemporary apartments, together with a communal lobby containing a lift. The building was configured by two flats on the first three floors and a luxurious penthouse located on the top floor.
The apartments were modern and energy efficient with traditional detailing that reflected the character of the area. Built using largely traditional materials, and incorporating design features such as eaves, dormers and gable chimneys, the David House development reflected the architectural style popular throughout the town, with the added benefit of maintained landscaped areas and parking.
