At the beginning of January 2019, we were awarded the refurbishment and extension of the Chester Hotel in Aberdeen. The project comprised of the repair and maintenance of the roof structure, External alterations to the existing structure along with a new bar and restaurant extension.
Works were carried out over a 60-week period and included the installation of a fully re-engineered electrical and plumbing & Heating system. As the buildings are all listed this was done in close conjunction with Aberdeen City Council and with the added pressure of the hotel still in operation.
Sector: Refurbishment
Client: The Chester Hotel Ltd
Project: Chester Hotel, 55-57 Queens Road
Location: Aberdeen
Following the completion of phases one and two at the Chester Hotel several years earlier, we were delighted to be awarded the next phase of works. The Chester was looking to create a new wining and dining experience, increase the number of high-quality rooms and increase their car parking capability. They had recently taken over the two properties immediately to the east of them and these were to be renovated and remodeled to suit their needs while still retaining the period / listed features.
Work involved was the stripping and re slating of both roofs, picking and repointing of external walls, the refurbishment or replacement of sash and case windows, Major structural engineering works to form new openings and to replace substandard structures, a large amount of rot treatment work, complete re-engineer of electrics, plumbing, heating and ventilation, plaster and cornice works, the formation of new bar dining and garden rooms, followed by full decoration and carpeting throughout and lastly the creation of the car parking space both to the front and rear.
The client was extremely delighted with the product and we are happy still to be working with them on new projects.
