Burns Construction were awarded the contract by BMI Healthcare to refurbish the existing hospital and build a new extension. The extension included the latest specification laminar flow theatre, 3 more patient en-suite bedrooms and 7 patient day case rooms to the rear of the hospital. There were also works to the pedestrian entrance from the front parking area to the main hospital entrance to provide patient’s accessibility.

Works involved a bauder roof installation, steelwork erection, new floor coverings and re-decoration throughout, precast stairs and floor installation and zinc cladding, along with extensive M&E alterations to suit.

This has increased capacity for both patients and staff at the hospital, giving the existing building a fresh, new feel.
